WNCU announcer Carolyn Ryals to be honored with appreciation musical – April 8

Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals, longtime on-air personality at WNCU 90.7 FM, will be honored with an appreciation program this Sunday, April 8, 2018.  The event will take place at Durham’s Lakeview Baptist Church on 3411 Dearborn Drive.   


This year marks Ryal’s 20th as a gospel announcer on North Carolina Central University’s campus radio station.  She, along with “Country Boy” Walter Hatcher, alternate hosting duties Sunday mornings on the “Hallelujah Praise” show.


The appreciation service starts at 4 PM and will include both music and spoken word tributes.

WNCU 90.7 FM’s Ryals invites you to Saturday Morning Jubilee – Nov. 30

This time around, Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals’ Sunday morning jubilee will be on Saturday.  That’s right, this Saturday, November 30, WNCU’s queen of gospel radio will host her popular morning sing-along—this time called “Saturday Morning Jubilee featuring the ‘Fancy Hats’ Parade”—at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church.  The church is located at 284 Young’s Chapel Church Road in Roxboro, NC, and the musical begins at 11am.

The Spiritual Lights of Rougemont, WNCU on-air personality Minister Carolyn Satterfield, Minister Brenda
Hunt-Moore, Val Hannah, Touch N Spirit, and the New Joylette Singers are scheduled to appear.

Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals is known throughout NC’s triangle area as the “Queen of Gospel Radio” as well as one of two infectiously upbeat hosts of the “Hallelujah Praise” radio show, which airs every Sunday morning on WNCU 90.7 FM.  This year marks her 15th as an on-air personality, and she will be honored with an appreciation musical Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 5 PM.  The event will take place at the Person County Office Building Auditorium in Roxboro, NC.
 
Among the groups and soloists set to appear are The Friendly 5, The Spiritual Lights, Second Chance, New Creation, The New Joylette Singers, The Bradleys, All God’s Children, Michael Whitfield, John Thorpe & Truth, and Minister Carolyn Satterfield.

GMF's Libra Boyd to be in-studio guest on WNCU's "Hallelujah Praise" – Dec. 16

Tune in to WNCU 90.7 FM this Sunday, December 16, at 8:30 AM EST.  GMF’s founder and editor Libra Boyd will be a live in-studio guest on the “Hallelujah Praise” show with co-host Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals.

“Hallelujah Praise” is broadcast every Sunday morning from the campus of North Carolina Central University. The program plays a mix of traditional gospel music, including oldies and new releases by local and national artists.

WNCU 90.7 FM radio personalities Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals and Walter Wallace Hatcher, aka the Ol’ Chatham County County Boy, are prepping to emcee Saturday’s concert at Lattisville Grove Baptist Church featuring Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s.

Pettiford-Ryals and Hatcher are the hosts of “Hallelujah Praise,” which airs every Sunday morning from 6 to 11 AM EST.  Both hosts play a mix of traditional gospel music (mostly quartets), oldies and new releases by local artists.  The broadcast also streams live from www.wncu.org.
