DURHAM – Reverend Jonas Buster Brown passed on October 27, 2014 in Durham, NC.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Rosa Hannah Brown; four
sons, Christopher Brown (Monica V. Martin), Jimmy Hannah (Tomeka
Copeage), Jonas R. Hannah, Jr. (Linda Yvette Cox), Richard Lamont Brown;
three brothers, Willie Boston, Jr. (Patricia), Erol Boston and Wayne
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Lakeview
Baptist Church, 3411 Dearborn Drive, Durham, NC, beginning at 1 p.m. A
visitation with family and friends will take place at 12:30 p.m.

WNCU’s Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals celebrates 15 years in radio with musical – March 16

Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals is known throughout NC’s triangle area as the “Queen of Gospel Radio” as well as one of two infectiously upbeat hosts of the “Hallelujah Praise” radio show, which airs every Sunday morning on WNCU 90.7 FM.  This year marks her 15th as an on-air personality, and she will be honored with an appreciation musical Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 5 PM.  The event will take place at the Person County Office Building Auditorium in Roxboro, NC.
Among the groups and soloists set to appear are The Friendly 5, The Spiritual Lights, Second Chance, New Creation, The New Joylette Singers, The Bradleys, All God’s Children, Michael Whitfield, John Thorpe & Truth, and Minister Carolyn Satterfield.

Tune in to WNCU 90.7 FM this Sunday, December 16, at 8:30 AM EST.  GMF’s founder and editor Libra Boyd will be a live in-studio guest on the “Hallelujah Praise” show with co-host Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals.

“Hallelujah Praise” is broadcast every Sunday morning from the campus of North Carolina Central University. The program plays a mix of traditional gospel music, including oldies and new releases by local and national artists.
