“Even a blind man can see how good God’s been to me,” declare The Brooklyn Allstars in their uptempo number, “God Has Been So Good to Me.”  The single, which expresses a widely shared sentiment, appears on the group’s CD, Live in Richmond, VA, due out today.

Thinking on the goodness of the Lord is sure to lift your spirits, and Carolyn Traylor’s “Good to Me” is sure to make a great soundtrack for the experience.

“He’s so good to me / He constantly makes ways for me / He opens doors for me / Loves on me…” goes the contagious hook. After just one listen, I couldn’t stop humming the melody.

Traylor, who hails from Texas, has musical experiences on her resumé ranging from performances with Albertina Walker to international tours with Dr. Bobby Jones. Her soulful flare, which delves into blues territory, is just what this groove needs to complement its punchy bass, simmering horn section, and lively contemporary-styled background vocals.

J. Couch, Jr. as the new President and CEO of the company.  Mr. Couch,
currently a Board  member, has been associated with the company for over
15 years.  He started in the Entertainment business at Ole Miss when he
formed a regional booking agency and started the Waldoxy record label
after graduating. 
Mr. Couch succeeds his father, co-founder Thomas Couch, Sr. in that
position. “Tommy was instrumental and took the lead in several of our
acquisitions throughout the years with the most important being the
purchase of 50% interest in Select-O-Hits, the premier independent
record distributor located in Memphis, TN.  In this ever- changing and
challenging Music Business, Tommy has the leadership, experience and

Jekalyn Carr’s résumé resembles that of someone who’s been in the business for as long as she is old.
 
A frequent psalmist at Benny Hinn crusades, a fiery evangelist whose YouTube videos show her preaching preceding generations into frenzies, and a special musical guest on the Word Network, the 15 year-old diminutive dynamo makes quite an authoritative declaration with the single “Greater Is Coming,” from her forthcoming CD of the same title.

Malaco announces first Malaco Artists Retreat & Showcase (M.A.R.S.)

(Jackson, MS) – The Malaco Music Group is proud to announce the inaugural Malaco Artists Retreat & Showcase (M.A.R.S.).

The Malaco Artists Retreat & Showcase (M.A.R.S.)  is a national singing and performance competition developed to give unsigned artists an opportunity to showcase their talents, win prize money, receive a recording contract with one of the Malaco Music Group family of labels and appear on a national television show on The Word Network. The Word network is available in over 200 countries and reaches nearly 60 million homes in the U.S. alone.

In addition, there will be panel discussions conducted with veteran industry professionals in the areas of Gospel Radio, Marketing, Radio Promotions, Public Relations, Distribution, Booking & Management, Concert Promotion, Studio Production, Songwriting, Publishing, Copyrights, and How To Succeed in Today’s Gospel Music Industry.

Tammy Edwards & The Edwards Sisters on Bobby Jones Gospel – Dec. 9

Tammy Edwards and the Edwards Sisters of Greenville, NC will make their national television debut this Sunday morning on Bobby Jones Gospel.  The show airs at 9 AM EST on BET.
The group’s current release is On the Right Road Now, on the 4 Winds Records/Malaco label.

Malaco Music Group signs Kevin Vasser

Jackson, MS (November 9, 2012) – Malaco Music Group is proud to announce its latest signing of Kevin Vasser, the Director of Worship and Arts at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago (Pastor Charles Jenkins, Pastor) to an exclusive recording agreement.

Expect a full project from Kevin Vasser in 2013. The lead single “Only You Can Deliver” featuring DeWayne Woods will be impacting radio soon.

D.A. Johnson, executive director of Malaco’s gospel division, states, “From the very moment I heard Kevin’s voice singing ‘Only You Can Deliver,’ I knew that this was a special song and it would touch the hearts
of millions.”

Kevin started his singing career with the singing group Youth Edition, which was comprised of his eldest brother and two cousins. Youth Edition’s introduction to the music industry was catapulted by the hit song “Anything Is Possible” written and produced by the amazing songwriter/producer Percy Bady.

“It is truly an honor to be a part of the Malaco Music family,” says Kevin. “I don’t take lightly the rich tradition of the label and I look forward to a long and successful relationship with Malaco.”

With this project produced by Kevin Vasser and his music director Phil Feaster, of the Fred Hammond production team, it has all the ingredients to be his career defining hit, but more importantly it has the music to encourage the nations.

Malaco Music Group recently announced that a Malaco published gospel song appears in the Academy Award nominated film The Help.

“Victory Is Mine,” written by Dorothy Norwood and Alvin Darling, and a staple in congregations across the country, is featured in the movie.

The Help and/or its actresses are nominated for Oscars in the categories of Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.
